Chinese Mining Crushers for Latin America & Asia-Pacific: Technical Buyer’s Guide 2026

TQ Industrial is a Chinese mining equipment manufacturer — our core production is explosion-proof lighting and conveyor idlers. We export to Chile, Peru, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. We also help mining projects in these markets procure crushing equipment from qualified Chinese manufacturers, drawing on our factory-side knowledge of the supply chain.

China is the world’s largest exporter of mining crushing equipment — by a significant margin. For buyers in Latin America, Indonesia, the Philippines, and other growing mining markets, the practical question is no longer “should I buy from China” but “how do I buy from China without getting burned.”

This guide covers the types of crushers available from Chinese manufacturers, how FTA structures affect the economics in your market, how to qualify suppliers, and where the procurement process most often goes wrong — written from the perspective of a manufacturer who operates in this supply chain, not a trade directory.

The Chinese Crusher Market: What Exists

China manufactures the full range of industrial crushing equipment. The categories most relevant to mining procurement:

Jaw Crushers (HS 847420)
The standard primary crusher for hard rock mining. Chinese manufacturers produce jaw crushers from small laboratory units to large-scale primary crushers with feed openings above 1200mm × 1500mm. The design is mature and well-understood. Most Chinese jaw crusher designs follow JCE or PE/PEX series configurations.

Cone Crushers
Secondary and tertiary crushing. Chinese spring cone and hydraulic cone crushers (HP and GP series analogues) have improved significantly in quality over the past decade. Some manufacturers have direct licensing arrangements with original designs; others have developed independent design improvements. Quality varies substantially — this is one category where manufacturer qualification matters most.

Impact Crushers
Horizontal shaft impactors (HSI) and vertical shaft impactors (VSI) for softer rock, aggregate production, and sand making. Chinese VSI technology has seen significant investment and Chinese manufacturers are competitive globally on this category.

Vibrating Feeders and Screens (complementary equipment)
Often procured as part of the same crushing plant package. These are high-volume manufactured items where Chinese quality has largely converged with international standards for most specifications.

Latin America: FTA Structures and Tariff Reality

The three largest mining markets in Latin America — Chile, Peru, and Colombia — all have Free Trade Agreements with China, which directly affects crusher procurement economics.

Chile — China FTA (since 2006, fully implemented)
– Mining crushers (HS 847420): 0% import tariff under the China-Chile FTA
– Complete crushing plant equipment: 0%–3% depending on classification
– Typical sea freight: 35–40 days to Valparaíso or San Antonio (Guangdong origin)

Chile’s mining sector, centered on copper in the Atacama and central Andes, operates some of the world’s largest open-pit operations. The scale of projects — and the procurement volumes — makes Chinese supplier engagement commercially serious. Several large Chilean copper producers have procurement programs with Chinese equipment suppliers.

Peru — China FTA (since 2010)
– Comparable tariff structure to Chile for most mining equipment categories
– Typical sea freight: 35–42 days to Callao (Lima)
– Peruvian mining regulation (MEM) has specific requirements for equipment documentation that buyers should verify for imported machinery

Colombia — ongoing trade relations
Colombia does not have a formal China FTA, but MFN rates for most mining crushers (HS 847420) have been reduced through WTO commitments. Import duty runs 5%–10% depending on exact classification. Sea freight to Buenaventura or Cartagena: 30–38 days.

Brazil
Complex. Brazil’s MERCOSUR tariff structure imposes significant import duties on many equipment categories from non-FTA partners. Chinese crushing equipment into Brazil typically faces 12%–18% import duties, making the landed cost economics less favorable. Brazilian buyers often evaluate Chinese equipment more carefully for total cost including tariff.

Indonesia and Philippines: Asia-Pacific Dynamics

Indonesia
The ASEAN-China FTA effectively eliminates tariffs on most mining equipment imports from China. Indonesia’s nickel, coal, and gold sectors have all increased Chinese equipment procurement over the past five years. For crushing equipment specific to nickel ore and coal processing, Chinese suppliers have built specific product experience serving Indonesian operations.

Logistics to Indonesian mining operations is variable — Sulawesi and Kalimantan operations have different logistics challenges than Java-based facilities. Transit times from Chinese ports: 7–15 days to major Indonesian ports, but onward delivery to remote mining sites adds meaningful time.

Philippines
ASEAN-China FTA rates apply. Philippine copper and gold mining generates consistent demand for secondary and tertiary crushing equipment. Procurement typically flows through Manila-based trading and engineering companies.

Qualifying Chinese Crusher Suppliers

This is where most procurement problems originate. The Chinese crusher manufacturing landscape ranges from serious engineering manufacturers with decades of production experience to assemblers who buy components externally and don’t understand the equipment they sell.

What a Real Manufacturer Looks Like

Factories with genuine manufacturing capability typically have:
– In-house foundry or documented supply from certified cast steel foundries (crusher frames are large castings)
– CNC machining for eccentric shafts, bearing housings, and wear components
– In-house heat treatment facilities (critical for wear parts like jaw plates and cone mantles)
– Testing area with load testing capability

What to Ask For

  1. Production photos (not stock photos) of the specific model being procured
  2. Steel material certifications for structural components (mill certificates)
  3. Wear part specifications: jaw plate manganese content (typically 13%–18% Mn for jaw crushers)
  4. Previous project references — ideally with mine name, equipment model, installation date, and a contact if possible
  5. Spare parts availability commitment: what’s kept in stock vs. made-to-order

Common Documentation Requirements for Import

For Latin American customs, crusher imports typically require:
– Commercial invoice with HS code declaration
– Packing list
– Certificate of origin (Form E for ASEAN; Form F for ASEAN-China FTA countries)
– For large single pieces: specialized packing and transport specification

Peruvian and Colombian customs have been stricter about HS code classification disputes on crushing equipment — working with a manufacturer or procurement partner who has direct experience on the China-to-LatAm trade lane reduces delays.

Economics: When Chinese Crushers Make Sense

Where China is Clearly Competitive
– Standard jaw crushers for primary crushing at mid-scale operations
– Vibrating feeders and screens
– VSI crushers for aggregate and sand production
– Replacement wear parts (jaw plates, cone liners, impact bars)

Where to Be More Careful
– Specialized high-pressure grinding rolls (HPGR) — advanced technology where Chinese designs are newer and track record is shorter
– Large-diameter primary gyratory crushers — limited Chinese manufacturing for very large units
– Applications requiring specific metallurgical certifications not available from most Chinese manufacturers

For most Latin American and Southeast Asian mining operations procuring standard jaw and cone crushers in the 200–800 tonne-per-hour range, Chinese equipment represents a commercially rational choice when properly qualified and specified.

How TQ Industrial Works with Crusher Buyers

TQ Industrial is a Chinese mining equipment manufacturer based in Shanxi — our production covers explosion-proof lighting and conveyor idler assemblies. We export to mining operations in Chile, Peru, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Direct equipment supply (our manufacturing): Conveyor idler assemblies and explosion-proof lighting, supplied direct from our factory with full technical documentation and quality certifications for each market.

Crusher procurement coordination: For jaw crushers, cone crushers, screens, and complete crushing plant packages — which fall outside our own production scope — we assist mining projects in qualifying Chinese manufacturers, managing pre-shipment inspection, and coordinating import documentation. We apply the same factory-level quality discipline to this role that we use in our own production: we know what real manufacturing infrastructure looks like because we operate it.

We work with buyers across Chile, Peru, Indonesia, and the Philippines and have direct experience with the import documentation requirements in each market through our own export operations.
